Steve Hackett's side kick Amanda Lehmann released her 2nd solo album recently called "Innocence and Illusion", we play "The Watcher", the Pinapple Thief will release "Nothing But The Truth" in October which is a live performance in Covid restrictions of their 2020 album "Versions of the Truth". A pleasant surprise was an album by Dikajee from Russia and her new album "Forget*me*nots", if you like Tori Amos, this will appeal to you. Furthermore: the new Hawkwind "Somnia", from Germany some heavy prog by A Kew's Tag and from Maasluis/Holland the new Fractal Mirror. Also from Holland Mr. Albert Show in the Dutch Vault this time. Our album of the Month is by Tony Kaye. Pendragon kicks off this show with a track from their 2001 release "Not of This World", German band Final Stanza is next from their new album "Lost In Time", another Steve Hackett track follows from his "Surrender to Silence" released yesterday. This whole month we play Dutch bands in the Vault, this time from The Hague: Group 1850. Tony Kaye delivered a momentum on the 9/11 attacks 20 years ago and has been voted our Album of the Month with "End of Innocence" (review here: http://www.tvrdo.nl/448030474 ). Italian band PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi) treats us on a pre-listen of their upcoming album "I Dreamed of Electric Sheep" and Checking For Echo teams up with Freedom to Glide singer Andy Nixon on the Long Earth cover "Suit of Arms" from their album "Life & Other Short Stories: Vol. 1, then from Hampshire/UK Viriditas from their new album "Green Mars", from Germany Syrinx Call, the band from former Eloy collaborator Volker Kuinke, we close the first hour with Belgian outfit Transport Aerian from their new album "Falling 20"

New releases by Cyan with a remake of their album "For King and Country" from 1993, featuring alongside Robert Reed, Peter Jones on vocals, Luke Machin on guitar and Dan Nelson on bass, Iota & the Riffaheads is next from Argentina with their "Muladar". In the Vault we find Kayak with the title track from their 1975 and 3rd album "Royal Bed Bouncer", a song frequently played on Radio Mi Amigo and Caroline that time. Dream Theater is next with a clip of their recent album 'View from the Top of the World, Matelo Mantra follows from Montreal/Canada, some poppy prog from the band Arrivals", still figuring out if their coming on going, from their album "Departure", Red Sand has a new one called 'The Sound of the Seventh Bell" and we close with Robert Fripp teaming up with electronic dance group The Grid, featuring David Ball of Soft Cell and their new album "Leviathan".

Starting off with Transatlantic and their moving song "Bridge Across Forever" and staying in the same mood we have Riverside keyboardist Michał Łapaj from his solo album "Are You There" with the warm voice of Antimatter's Mick Moss, from Poland to the UK with Drifting Sun's new album "Forsaken Innocence". In the Vault we have the short lived band Jasper Wrath from Connecticut/USA taking us back to psychedlic years late 60's and early 70's. Our album of the Month remains Nine Skies, although another AOM will be featured next week (curious? visit our website as from the 1st of September: tvrdo.nl). Next up is Kayak bass player Kristoffer Gildenlöw with a Leonard Cohen-esk song from his recent release "Let Me Be A Ghost". From Germany there's Single Celled Organism and a track from (his) their album "Percipio Ergo Sum", then a couple of recently released singles by Britprog outfit Public Service Broadcasting mesmerising Marlene Dietrich, residing in the US at the time Hitler took command of Germany and wanted her to come back, she declined the offer, ex-lead singer of Genesis, Ray Wilson with a track from his album "The Weight of Man" and from the US Sudler's Row with another track from their recently released EP "Loose Enz". Closing song is by Cockney Rebel's keyboardist Duncan Mackay called "Summers Past".

Our starter this weekend is a somewhat strange release from 2001. It was released under the monniker Renaissance Illusion and is called "Through The Fire". It contains the original line up of Renaissance which later became the band Illusion, so with vocalist Jane Relf instead of Annie Haslam. Lucid Lynx is next from the US and a track from their recent released album "Mantaro". A rerelease of Time Honoured Ghost by Barclay James Harvest from which we play the bonus track which was especially recorded for the US market called "Child of the Universe" and still appropiate in these days in time. Shadow Box is next from New Jersey and a track from their new album "Flat Moon". Lana Del Rey is in our Summer Vault teaming up with James Barrie O'Neil with a Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood classic. The album of the month is Nine Skies and another track from their album "5.20". A new song from Steve Hackett's upcoming album "Surrencer of Silence" where he puts "fake news" in the spotlight. Another US band, Umphrey's McGee, is next from their new album with a very long titel (review here: http://www.tvrdo.nl/450137860 ), from Italy another song from Odessa, Lisa Gerrard and Jules Maxwell-Orian from New Zealand are again present from their "Burn" album. We also have Vangelis and Toyah (with Robert Fripp) in the show.

First up is Italian band "ifsound" with a summer breeze, followed by UK band Tamarisk with a track from their new album "Suspended Animation". The Geof Whitely Project, also from the UK, follows with a track from their upcoming album "The Valley of Forboding", from Spain the band Anairt with some Flamenco prog (read the review here: http://www.tvrdo.nl/450084357 by Erik Neuteboom), we stay in warm regions with Mexican band Fungi with their new album "Into the Void", some exclusive content is given by USA band Birth from their rather psychedelic demo album, from Norway Leprous with a track from "Aphelion" and back to the US of A again with Starboard Quest. The Summer Vault this time is filled with an unreleased track by (oa) Alan Parsons' Project singer Chris Rainbow.
Of course on the 1/2 hour mark you can enjoy another track from our Album of the Month by French outfit Nine Skies and to close the show is a re-release of Symphonic Yes when Steve Howe takes us to the news.

Furthermore new releases by space rock band Mahogany Frog from Canada, also from the other side of the ocean, American project Echo Us, closer to home, Castanarc from the UK, then another trip around the world, this time destination Australia with former Dead Can Dance singer Lisa Gerrard but also The Omnific, then returning to the UK we find Yes with a track from their upcoming album "The Quest" and closing song is by Peter Hammill's "In Translation". We start the show with German band Anyone's Daughter from "Danger World" released 20 years ago and in the Vault a summer tune by Osibisa.

    In the Summer Vault his time Dutch band Diesel with Sausolito Summer Nights, a song also released in the UK, I can still remember when it was played on the BBC and the team of experts thought it was a good song, the only downside was the electric guitar solo half way through the middle, which they thought didn't belong in the song. Well, judge for yourselves. Furthermore in this show new releases by Colin "Camel" Bass, Isildurs Bane, featuring Peter Hammill, Helium Station, IO Earth, Mythopoetic and 41 South. For the last time a track from our Album of the Month by Mustafa Khetty Morpheus Project and show starter is Italian band Malibran from their 2001 release "Oltre l'Ignoto".

    This episode a high Kayak level with a new song by current member Kristoffer Gildenlöw from his new album "Let Me be a Ghost" and former vocalist Cindy Oudshoorn found unfinished work from the late Kayak drummer Pim Koopman (2009) and worked on it with a fine selection of Dutch musicians. She released the album under the title "Reappearance". Furthermore in his show new work by the Neal Morse Band, Styx and Journey from the USA, Leprous from Norway, Morgendust from the Netherlands, Inhibit from Belgium and Breeze from Germany. Polish band Millenium released a rarities album last year from which we play "River of Love". In the Summer Vault Dutch band Galaxy-Lin and our album of the Month is Mustafa Khetty's Morpheus Project. Show starter is Radiohead from their 2001 release Amnesiac.

Our new album of the Month is "Mozaick" by Mustafa Khetty's Morpheus Project, from Switzerland Metamorphosis with a track from their album "I'm Not A Hero", Needlepoint from Norway and from Brighton/UK Diagonal's fourth album taking us back to the psychedilic era of rock and from Italy we have Syndone's latest album "Kama Sutra" and Odessa's upcoming album "L'Alba delle Civetà. Magenta celebrates their 20th Anniversary with a live album and they showcase "Spectral Mornings" from Steve Hackett this hour with lyrics and vocals by Big Big Train singer David Longdon alongside Christina Booth. From the Netherlands (The Hague) we have a reappearance of the band Timelock (after 13 years), and we close with a cat friendly song by What Strange Beasts but show starter is Steve (Kansas) Walsh from his cooperation on Trent Gardner's "Leonardo, The Absolute Man". Throughout this and the following month we have a Summer Vault. Sherbet kicks off with "Summer Love".

    In this episode new releases by Nine Skies from France, Ambigram, Blind Golem and Archangel from Italy, Between the Jars and Kingfisher Sky from the Netherlands and from Greece we have the band Ciccada who's album "Harvest" is our Album of the Month. Now what has Scottish soul (as it was referred to that time) to do with Progressive Rock? Well, back in the day there was this band called Cado Belle, which released only one album, but in their midst was Maggie Reilly and she joined Mike Olfield shortly after on his two most succesful hits "Moonlight Shadow" and "To France", and that's exactly the reason "Stones Throw From Nowhere" from Cado Belle dating back to 1976 is in the Vault this time. Show starter is a bonus track from ELO's Zoom album which was released 20 Years ago.
    The 2nd hour long tracks by Austrian band Blank Manuskript from their recent album "Himmelfahrt" and from Italy the debut EP from Ikitan called Twenty Twenty.

Then Ton Scherpenzeel joining the Samurai of Prog collective on their new album "The Lady and the Lion".     So, do we have a link to the Eurovision Song Contest from last week? We certainly do. As you may know the Eurovision song contest was a spin off of the Italian Sanremo Festival, founded in 1951. Le Orme entered that "competition" in 1986, to very little acclaim, but good enough to let you listen to that effort in "The Vault". For the last time Mexican band Cast as our album of the month with their closing song of the album Vigesimus. Some familiar faces this show: Procol Harum with their new EP "Missing Persons", a vamped up Gentle Giant's "Free Hand" album by Steven Wilson and a new album by Italian band The Watch, out in September. Front woman of the band IZZ, Laura Meade, with a song from her first solo album, Steve Hackett is joining forces with Geoff Tate (Queensrÿche), Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, Sons of Apollo ao), Mel Collins (King Crimson, ao), Geoff Downes (Asia, Yes ao), Ian Paice (Deep Purple) for the Pink Floyd tribute album "Still Wish You Were Here".     The TVRDO show tonight has been taken over by the London based band The Mighty Handful with a selection of songs which inspired the 5 members, have fond memories of or just because they liked them. They throw some Mighty songs of themselves in as well. Enjoy the witt and laughter and, sometimes, seriousness of the band in what we should call the MIGHTY TVRDO SHOW. As is the case with Fish also former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung calls it quits to recorded music. His final album "26 East Vol 2 " is due out in June. Big Big Train re-recorded "Brew and Burgh" from "The Underfall Yard" and another outing to Vincenzo Ricca's "the Rome Pro(g)ject" with rerecordings from earlier albums called "Beaten Paths Different Ways", in the track we play Steve Hackett is featured. More new release by Gepetto from France, from Germany Sylvan, Vola from Denmark and UK/US band White Moth Black Butterfly. In the Vault we find the Moody Blues with track from their boxset "The Magnificent Moodie Blues" and the show starter this week is Fish from his "Felini Days" released 20 years ago.

In the Vault a live performance by one time band Qango featuring John Wetton and John Young a.o. The track we play is "The Last One Home", written by John Young which is also featured on the Lifesigns album "Altitude", with some different lyrics by John Wetton. New releases by German band RPWL, from Italy one man band Because and Baro Prog-Jets and the Downes Braide Association teams up with Marc Almond in "Warm Summer Sun" from their latest release. Robert Perry's 3.2 pays tribute to Keith Emerson, Clive Nolan takes on the epics of Old English literature in "Song of the Wildlands". Another track from The Mighty Handul's new EP "Man in Stasis". We are privileged that this band will present their favourite tracks in the Pentecost edition of TVRDO on the 23rd of May on PopRockFM. It's gonna be a Mighty TVRDO show that one. We start the show with Yes from their "Magnification" album released 20 Years ago, a re-release by Jethro Tull and the album "A", which was actually meant as solo album for Ian Anderson, but the record company decided otherwise and in the Vault we find ELO Part II, a project initiated by ELO drummer Bev Bevan, since Jeff Lynne had moved away that time from the Electric Light Orchestra, Eric Troyer is lead vocalist in the band and has got a remarkable resemblance to Jeff's voice.

    Saga takes us back 20 years in this edition of TVRDO with their album "House of Cards", Lucio Battisti, the Italian singer-songwriter who died far too young (55), is the the Vault with his Una Giornata Uggiosa and the magnificent album "Olias of Sunhillow" by Jon Anderson is finding itself re-released as a remastered CD and DVD. Asia Minor supplied us with the album of the Month with their "come back" album "Points of Libration". Also in this show Steven Wilson, from Holland the new Epica, Italian outfit Mètronhomme, from Sweden Soen and Nad Sylvan, Robert Reed's Cursus 123 430 and from Delaware (USA) Sudler's Row.

    Shadow Gallery starts the show with a track from their 2001 release "Legacy", in the Vault we find Mr. TopPop, Ad Visser with vocals by Gary Brooker. a re-release by Dutch band Like Wendy and a first track of our new album of the Month by Asia Minor "Point of Libration". Crack The Sky, formed in 1970, are still going strong with their new album "Tribes", former Klaatu singer/drummer Terry Draper released his "Lost" (his 17th solo effort) just recently. Irish proggers God Is An Astronaut will release their new album on February 12, from which we can already play the song "Fade", from Enschede (theNetherlands) the band ENorm with their new single "Strange World", from Italy (Palermo) Silver Nightmares, Steve Lukather with a brand new song and from the Ukrain La Horse Bianca. We leave you the first hour with a new track from Liquid Tension Experiment.

    This time new releases by Mogwai and Jane Weaver from the UK, the Prog Collective (ft. Geoff Tate and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal), Alta Reign both from the US, Motorpsycho from Norway, from Italy Deadburger Factory and from Spain The Flying Caravan. A final track from our Album of the Month by Dutch proggers Like Wendy. A re-release by Be-Bop Deluxe from their 1978 album "Drastic Plastic", Asia takes us back 20 years with their Aura album with vocals by John Payne and in the Vault we find the band Sunday All Over The World, which was in fact a musical cooperation for one album between Toyah, Robert Fripp and Trey Gunn .

The David Bowie estate released a new version of his Bob Dylan cover "Tryin' To Get To Heaven", Gary Numan's new release "Intruder" and Paul McCartney goes Pink Floyd with "Deep Deep Feeling" from his McCartney III album, Cher is in "the shoebox" with her version of the Sue Shifrin/John Wetton song "I'll Never Stop Loving You".

    20 Years ago Threshold released "Hypothetical" with on vocals the late Andrew McDermott, we find Heart in the Vault with a song written by Sue Shiffrin and John Wetton for David Cassidy. Heart released the song on the Japanese bonus cd of "Brigade" and even Cher recorded the song. Wishbone Ash rereleased their "Raw to the Bone" album recently and we play another track from our Album of the Month by Like Wendy ("The Fisher"). New releases by Galahad Electric Company, Big Big Train with a brand new studio recording from their recent compilation album "Summer Lease", French outfit JPL with a new release, from the UK the band Rain from Italy Ellesmere, the Strawbs are back with "Settlement" and we finish the first hour with a solo single by Damian Wilson.

    20 Years ago Muse released their 2nd album "The Origin of Symmetry" which made me a modest follower of this Teignmouth (Devon/UK) based band, we play the highlight of the album in my opinion "Space Dementia". In the Vault we have Stevie Lange with a promo song for a Womans bodyspray called Limara. The single, produced by the Jeff Wayne Music Company, was only distributed at Boots or simular shops when you bought 3 Limara products. Stevie Lange is nowadays a vocal coach for Robbie Williams, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Atomic Kitten a.o. One of her chart performances was with the band Night, fronted by Manfred Mann's Earth Band vocalist Chris Thompson and "Hot Summer Nights". Our album of the month is by Like Wendy "The Fisher" and we have a live re-release by Fairport Convention. New releases by Leprous, Tiger Moth Tales, Galaad, UNALEI, Qirsh and a cover version of Joy Division by The Tea Party (Isolation). Brand new is the debut album by Perfect Storm music from the Netherlands (Groningen). The 2nd hour long tracks by Malibran, Marillion and Vangelis with music he composed and performed for a fashion show.

    The new Yes side project "Arc of Life" is featured in this show with a track from their upcoming album which will be released on February 12th. Also a new single by Airbag frontman Bjørn Riis, another track from Steve Hackett's new acoustic album "Under Mediterranean Skies", Vangelis and a track from his recently released album "Juno to Jupiter", Robert Berry reincarnated the band 3 for the 2nd time and called it 3.2 from which we play "A Fond Farewell", Sudlers Row from Delaware is also featured with a new single called "Concerned", and music collective Spirits Burning (BÖC, Gong, Hawkwind) teams up with science fiction and fantasy writer Michael Moorcock once more with the release of their album "The Hollow Lands". George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" has been rereleased and we picked the track "Art of Dying" since it features Phil Collins and also because you don't hear it much on the regular radio stations. In the Vault a rare track from "Rock of Faith" by the late John Wetton and show starter is Anathema with a track from their "A Fine Day to Exit" released 20 years ago. This week and the coming 3 you can enjoy Dutch band Like Wendy, since their album "The Fisher" has been voted the Album of the Month January.
